Amy Costello, LPC - Intern

Licensed Professional Counselor - Intern Supervised by Katie Yates, LPC-S
(she/her/hers)

I am a clinical counseling intern in Austin, Texas, working with adults and couples navigating grief, trauma, midlife changes, divorce, identity shifts, and the lingering impact of painful experiences. Clients often come to me feeling untethered, exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward. I offer a grounded and compassionate space where they can make sense of their experiences and begin to reclaim meaning and direction.

Therapy with me is relational, warm, and engaged. I integrate psychodynamic insight with mindfulness and somatic approaches. I believe healing comes from giving voice to what we’ve been through, and reclaiming the parts of ourselves that have been hidden, hurt, or silenced.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent two decades as an investigative journalist and interviewer, reporting on human rights abuses and trauma. I have counseled adults at the Austin Center for Grief and Loss and currently support parents of critically ill children at the Ronald McDonald House. I believe in the power of human resilience and delight in helping clients rediscover theirs.
