Licensed Master Social Worker Supervised by Kathryn Garland, LCSW-S, CEDS-C
(she/her/hers)
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker living in Austin, TX. My therapeutic style consists of a Humanistic, person-centered approach using a strengths-based perspective. I prioritize human connection and creating a space where healing and growth can happen through mutual and collaborative trust, empathy, and respect. I believe in meeting the client where they are in their healing journey with an unconditional positive regard.
My therapeutic approach combines different techniques such as Mindfulness techniques, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, Psychodynamic and Attachment work. I am also trained in Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I really value the importance of the mind-body connection and how trauma affects the whole body and can incorporate some somatic movement as well as Trauma Conscious Yoga in my sessions.
I am passionate about working with youth, adolescents, individual adults, and families struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, life transitions, and eating disorders.
Being a Mexican woman, I have a deep understanding on how culture and different identities play a role in every aspect of our lives. I use an intersectional lens to understand and support all clients with different experiences and perspectives, and I am honored to continue to serve clients of all backgrounds and identities. I am fluent in Spanish and can provide services in English and Spanish.
